Debenhams shampoo swap

A quick one tonight ladies. Earlier on today I was sent an email from the lovely ladies at Debenhams, explaining that on Wednesday 13th July, selected Debehams stores across the UK will be holding a shampoo swap in association with Fekkai hair care. This means you  can turn up to selected Debenham's stores with a bottle of empty or full branded shampoo and you will receive a free Fekkai Advanced Salon Technician Shampoo in return.

Unfortunately I'm going to be on holiday during the promotion, but I'd love to hear what you guys think of the product, if you get a chance to pop down.

The swap will be happening in the following stores: Wakefield, London Oxford Street, Manchester, Trafford, Glasgow, Preston, Metro Centre, Liverpool and Henry Street Dublin.

What's in my bag?

I've seen a lot of blog posts like this, in particular Daisy's and thought it was a fab idea to show you guys what is in mine. I haven't sorted out my bag prior to this, so I apologise for any awful rubbish that may appear.

ASOS bag, cost around £30

The entire contents of my bag

You're probably thinking my bag must be rather huge to fit all of this in, but infact it's not. It is heavy mind you...

I always carry around with me a notebook, pen and my diary - three things I'd be completely lost without. Also two pairs of sunglasses are important too. My purse was a gift from my best friend, the For You card is a leaving present from my last job. Also I always carry with me cuticle oil (The Body Shop), lipgloss (e.l.f) and lip balm (Blistex and Carmex).

Don't ask about the tea bag, I guess you never know when you might need one.

I'd love to see what you guys keep in your bags...

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Everyone I know raves about dry shampoo and its lifesaver qualities. But if I was honest with you, I've never really known how to use them properly. I spritz and brush, but my hair will always look greasier than it did before. So I bought Batiste (the queen of dry shampoos) XXL Volume to see what all the fuss was about.

Batiste have recently relaunched their brand and thrown a few different types of dry shampoo into the mix too. From coloured ones to match your hair, subtle shimmer and even different scents, who'd have thought you could get so many different types of shampoo in a can.

I must admit I have only used this product once, not because I didnt like it, but because I like the look and feel of freshly washed hair. When I eventually gave it a go, it volumised but as for greasiness, it didn't really work for me - my hair was beyond revival.

I'd recommend anyone try this product out for themselves and if you have any tips, I'd love to hear them. Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume is £3.99 and available nationwide.

Bourjois 10 Day Nail Enamel

I was super excited when I received this the other day - Bourjois' 10 Day Nail Enamel.

I don't know about you, but I hate chipped nails. It bothers me a lot when on holiday, so I thought this was perfect and couldn't wait to put it to the test.

On first application, the colour is more red than expected (I'm wearing 17 - Bougainvillea, a light raspberry colour). It comes with an angled brush, designed to make touch-ups easy, but I found it hard to get on with. It was difficult to apply a straight edge around my cuticles, which is why mine look a mess. After two coats my nails look like this...

Bourjois claim the nail enamel lasts up to ten days. What they don't tell you is that the colour only lasts up to seven and the touch up brush is used to bring the colour back to life again for another three days. I was interested to see how long the polish lasted without touch ups, so left it on for seven days to give it a fair trial.

Day 3

Day 5

Day 7

When I first received this product, I kind of liked the idea and I must admit, I still do. If I'd used the touch up brush then I'm sure my nails would have looked fab and considering it took 7 days to chip as much as this, then its not half bad - I've worn a lot worse! But it did stain my nails and I'm having to go au naturel to give my nails a break. But that's what you get for not applying a base coat - lesson learnt!

The Bourjois 10 Day Nail Enamel is available now for £5.99 and there are 12 shades to choose from. What do you guys think?

For Every Body Candle

Since becoming a home-owner, I've developed a sudden liking for scented candles. Well I say liking, it's practically borderline obsession. I started off buying Yankee Candles, but after a while didn't find the smell strong enough. So it wasn't until a good friend introduced me to this fabulous brand, For Every Body.

I don't really know much about them, apart from they're an American brand of soy candles, which are supposed to last longer and produce a stronger flavour compared to normal wax candles. So after searching high and low, I found this one on Amazon.

I love banana loaf, so you can guess why I chose this one. Plus, I thought it would make an interesting smell.

I've had it burning for a little while and the smell soon took over my home. Although it smells amazing, it is quite sweet, so you can't have it burning for too long.

This size is 7oz for approx £8, which compares to roughly a medium sized Yankee Candle. For more information on For Every Body candles visit www.foreverybody.com
