Garnier Pure Active 2-in-1 Spot Roll-On...Part one

Today I managed to get my hands on a brand new edition to the Garnier Pure Active range - the 2-in-1 Tinted Spot Roll-On - said to treat spots whilst offering coverage too. Now this product couldn't have come at a better time. In the last two weeks my skin has taken a shining to quite a few spots, with four currently residing on the side of my nose - not a good look.

I haven't managed to put this concealer/zit-zapper to the test yet, but I'm planning on using it for a week or so (as it says visible results after 1 day) so I will get back to you once I've tried and tested it. But what I can tell you are the basics...

To start with the colour does look a little dark and possibly too orange but when applied to the face it gives good coverage and isn't majorly obvious that you're trying to cover an imperfection. Also it looks quite matte, without feeling too heavy or looking chalky.

Here's a couple of swatches of what it looks like on my hand...

I will write another post to tell you whether or not it lived up to its promises.

The Pure Active 2-in-1 Roll-On is available sometime during this month for £7.49.

Clinique Pretty in Prints

I do love a limited edition collection - they're way prettier and so much more exciting - which is why I was glad to see Clinique were introducing one for Spring. Pretty in Prints is a brand new make-up palette designed by Michelle Smith, designer of women's fashion label Milly.

I haven't managed to get my hands on the palette yet, because it's not available to buy until 1st February. But I have been told it comes with a gorgeous range of eye, lip and cheek colours in shades of subtle pinks and browns.

To buy the palette it will set you back £25, but it does come in a really cute compact with a bag - all of which have been designed with the Milly signature print. You can also get your hands on a Limited Edition Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 (in a warm melon shade) for £14 and High Impact Mascara for £15, all of which are part of the Milly inspired range too.

I'm totally addicted to my GHDs but I couldn't help notice these cute mini straighteners from The Beauty Works. The plates are ceramic coated, they heat up to 200c and they're only £9.99 - it's the perfect girly gift.

Revlon Scents of Summer

Yes I know, you're probably thinking more nail varnishes? But I just had to share this with you...these scented nail varnishes from Revlon.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on three of shades, (l-r) Pretty in Papaya, Peach Smoothie and Beach.

To start with I was super impressed with the shades, especially Peach Smoothie - my fave - which contains a gorgeous subtle shimmer. Although it took three coats to make it opaque, it’s an elegant colour that will suit any skin tone. As for the smell, Beach stood out the most but only because it had more of a fresh, air freshener smell to it - not that it wasn't unpleasant, it just wasn't expected. Peach Smoothie surprisingly smells like peach and Pretty in Papaya also smells a little fruity, but not too strong. Each nail varnish makes me excited for summer and considering it’s been quite miserable recently, it couldn't come around sooner.

The Scents of Summer collection is available between March and August, with eight shades to choose from - I can't wait to get my hands on Bubblegum and Passion Fruit - I hope they smell as good as they sound.

Have you tried any of the Scents of Summer yet? And what's your verdict?

If you’re a fan of GOSH then you'll be pleased to know they're introducing a new limited edition range of nudes, just for Spring. With gorgeous floral packaging, it makes a change from their trademark black which can sometimes get overlooked.

The collection will brighten up any make-up bag and comes with two current nail varnishes, Miss Mole and Miss Sweety, both are £5 and two current lipsticks Cappuccino and Nougat at £6.49 each.

The whole collection is available from Superdrug stores from mid February.

Jelly Pong Pong Pillow Pout

I first heard of Jelly Pong Pong a while ago - back when those Girls Aloud ladies did that TV show, Passions of Girls Aloud. Nicola was creating her very own make-up brand and roped in Jelly Pong Pong for help. A few years later I noticed they had a stall at the Clothes Show Live and had to pick up a few bits - i fell in love with their bronzer instantly! Since then, I haven't heard much about them, until I saw this...

Pillow Pout is a lip butter that nourishes your lips and acts as a treatment too. Part of the Petal Perfection collection, which also contains a highlighter (Gossamer) and a cheek stain (Flower Cream), is due to go on sale in March.

At the moment, Pillow Pout only comes in this Fuscia shade (which can be a little bright for some of you) but I have been told there are plans to expand the collection, so no doubt there will be more lip colours available - so watch this space.

Pillow Pout is going to be priced at £9, which isn't too bad for a lip butter and treatment in one. For other Jelly Pong Pong products visit www.jellypongpong.com

December favourites...

Last month, Christmas took over my life - what with work and finding the perfect gifts, I unfortunately let my beauty side slip. So this month, instead of giving my five beauty favourites, I’m only going to give you three. So here goes...

Pantene Aqua Light
Now I know I’m a bit behind with this product, but I decided to buy it the other day after hearing rave reviews about it. First use, I wasn’t sold and too be honest I thought it felt quite heavy. But I stuck with it and must admit it’s very good! It’s light and doesn’t weigh your hair down. However, it won’t be replacing my usual volumising shampoo (my hair has taken a liking to looking yuk and flat recently) but I will be using it every now and again, especially when it needs a break.

No7 Stay Perfect nail varnish in Sugar
I’ve become a little obsessed with nail varnishes recently, but this one is my favourite! After two coats, your nails will look exactly the same colour as in the bottle - plus the packaging is cute too.

Part of the Boots No7 Limited Edition Spring collection and available to buy as of 26th January (I think, but will double check.)

Simple Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser
After the sudden cold snap we had, my skin really suffered, so I used this product to help revive it from the sorry state it was in.

I have always been a fan of Simple moisturisers, because they’re completely free of anything nasty, they're not too thick and they do as they promise - thumbs up all round.

What have your favourite products of December been?
