All that sparkles...

I'm partial to a little bit of glitter, which is why I love these two colours together - although I feel like I need to wear my prettiest party frock in order for it to not look too glam, but hey ho.

The base colour is Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Angel Wings and the top coat is a colour from the Special Effects collection at Nails Inc in Fitzroy Square.

Max Factor Perfect Fusion Mascara

I've been using this product for a couple of weeks now and I'm still undecided. I love that the wand coats every single lash, but not as thick as I would like. It comes with pretty amazing staying power - no flakes and sticks all day - but I'm not fully convinced by its volumising claims. This mascara is more for your everyday make-up, rather than evening.

I'm still on the look out for the perfect mascara, so if you guys have any recommendations, I'd appreciate them very much!

Nails inc in Haymarket

I apologise for the quality of the photo - it was taken on my BlackBerry as a quick snap, before I went about my everyday duties and chipped the little blighters.

But anyway, I absolutely love this shade from Nails inc. Its a subtle pastel colour that compliments any skin tone. After a very thin, white base coat and two shades later, Haymarket was 100% opaque and so far lasted me a good couple of hours - result!

Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Lemon Soda

Yellow nail polish instantly brightens my day and makes me feel like summer is finally here (even when it's wet outside.)
I absolutely love this colour, but the coverage is poor. After one coat brush strokes are visible, so you have to carefully apply two to make it opaque and even then its not perfect. Then again it is a budget varnish for £1.79.

Clinique summer...

Summer is slowly coming around and ever since we had that sudden heat wave, I've started to store away all my winter make-up and replace it with some lighter, summer alternatives.

You're probably wondering what this has to do with Clinique? But in April they launched their limited edition summer trend which contains a selection of holiday essentials in a cute vibrant bag. Inside the bag comes The Chubby Stick, Limited Edition Almost Bronzer SPF 15, Lash Power Mascara and SPF 35 Targeted Protection Stick.

The Limited Edition Bronzer SPF 15 comes with two separate bronzer shades, one lighter and one slightly darker for a slightly matte, sun-kissed glow. Some bronzers put me off slightly because they contain too much shimmer, which leaves you looking too sparkly in the sunshine. This one has a subtle shimmer in the darker shade, but this barely shows on your skin and gives a perfect matte finish.

For smudge, flake and smear-proof mascara, the Lash Power Mascara Long-Wearing Formula could be right up your street. According to Clinique it comes with a 24 hour water resistant formula and uses an advanced thermal technology to resist humidity. The lovely Camilla at Clinique also said that it's so hard-wearing, only warm water will remove it! I'm yet to try it on my own eyelashes, but I've always been impressed with Clinique mascara in the past that I'm sure this one won't disappoint.

Lastly is the SPF 35 Targeted Protection Stick - the perfect handbag staple for when you get caught short and need to protect your face from burning. Also it's small and safe enough to use on your lips, under your eyes and tops of the ears where we often miss. I absolutely love it and it's stayed in my handbag since.

What I love about Clinique is that SPF is key in a number of their products - apart from the Chubby Stick which would have finished off nicely had it contained an SPF too. It can be hard to come across a lip balm containing an SPF too, so it's a shame they didn't include one.

What do you guys think about new summer trend? Are there other trends you've been impressed with in the past?

Good to be back...

So as you're probably well aware, I moved recently to a lovely little house with my Mr. I won't bore you with any details other than it's absolutely beautiful and we can't wait to make it our own.

I haven't blogged for a while, so as you can imagine I have LOTS to tell you and firstly I'm going to start with the wonderful Superdrug beautycard launch I attended on Tuesday. Stupidly I forgot my camera on the day, but it was set by the pool of the Haymarket Hotel, which was beautiful.

The Superdrug beautycard is available now and until beginning of June you can earn 50 points for every £5 you spend on Superdrug branded products. Standard points work that for every £1 you spend you will receive one point, with 100 points translating to a £1. Also the card comes with a mirror on one side, handy for keeping in your purse.

Secondly, with festival season on the horizon, I want to tell you about these handy mini travel sized facial wipes from Nivea. They're the perfect handbag size and contain 7 wipes - perfect for cleansing your face when it's a bit grubby. Also they're only £1.01!

I have plenty more to blog about, but I think they're worth a seperate post...
