Softlips Revitalising Vitamin Enriched

If you're anything like me, as soon as the weather gets colder I'm prone to getting really dry, chapped lips. So receiving an email from a brand called Softlips, definitely caught my attention. Especially when it claimed to make my pout soft, smooth and kissable...

On first appearance, I was really surprised at how skinny the product was. Unlike most other lip balms, it can easily fit into your pocket or purse without being seen. The product is actually really nourishing and not to heavy either. It's completely colourless too and comes with added SPF20 - bonus!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when it landed on my doormat, but I'd definitely give it a thumbs up. I must admit, I don't think it's going to cure dry lips but it acts as a perfect inbetween product or even as a quick fix for when you're on the go.

Blistex Lip Brilliant

Here's the newest addition to the Blistex family - Lip Brilliance, multi-benefit balm.

Containing a cocktail of ingredients from real silk extract, hyaluronic filling spheres and SPF 15, with the aim to plump, protect and keep lips feeling super soft, with a subtle touch of colour too.

On application, it's soothing and adds just a subtle pink colour. A winter, handbag essential.

Blistex daily lip care range

Lip balms, creams and moisturisers have been one of my must-have products for years and if you were to look in my bag, you'd see I carry more than one type at any time. So when I was offered to review Blistex's daily lip care range, I jumped at the chance.

I'll start with the Relief Cream. Every winter my lips become dry and sore, but particularly last winter I had a niggling cracked area that wouldn't budge. I tried every product on the planet and nothing would make it disappear apart from the Relief Cream, which helped it heal within a week or so. On first application, it tingles and the texture is light and creamy. The only thing I would ask Blistex to change is the metallic type packaging - no matter how light you squeeze the tube, the product keeps on coming! Plus I can't throw it into the bottom of my bag either, for fear of it getting squashed. The Relief Cream is the perfect winter must-have, for dry, cracked or sore lips.

The Blistex Lip Massage is my most favouristist product of the bunch and my newest addition to reside in my handbag. I love the mini massage applicator, which helps work the product into your lips making them feel super soft. It's long-lasting, feels more nourishing compared to the others and not to mention contains SPF 15 so I'm safe to wear it when out in the sun - unlike Vaseline, which burns.

The Daily Lip Conditioner is actually a product I already use. I hate to say it, but I got bored of my trusty Carmex and needed a change. I must admit it doesn't last as long as the other products, but it does what it says on the tin - conditions and softens.

Lastly the Intensive Moisture contains SPF 10 and lighter than the Lip Massage and Relief Cream. Slightly tingles on contact and actually quite refreshing. It's more of a cream consistency, compared to other lip balms, which I love because it soaks into lips quickly and locks in moisture.

I'm really impressed with the Blistex daily lip care range because each of the products are set out to tackle different problems. One heals, another hydrates, another conditions and the last one moisturises - there's one for every type of problem at a budget price.

Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain & Balm

I have been a bit tardy recently, because I'm in the process of moving house. So a quick post tonight.

Lip pens have become increasingly popular and now Revlon have decided to jump on the bandwagon too. New for summer is their Just Bitten Lipstain & Balm product at £7.99. Available in seven colours - Passion, Twilight, Frenzy, Beloved, Forbidden, Flame and Gothic - all come with a vitamin-enriched lipstain formula to give you lasting colour and a nourishing balm on the other end. The lipstains are easy to apply - imagine drawing on your lips in felt-tip pen - but I wouldn't say the colours pop too much. I do like the idea of lip pens because they're fantastic for summer and taking on holiday, but they don't feel the same as a lipstick. They're drying, which could be why they've added a balm on the end for nourishment. Personally I'm not 100% sold. What do you guys think?

Jelly Pong Pong Pillow Pout

I first heard of Jelly Pong Pong a while ago - back when those Girls Aloud ladies did that TV show, Passions of Girls Aloud. Nicola was creating her very own make-up brand and roped in Jelly Pong Pong for help. A few years later I noticed they had a stall at the Clothes Show Live and had to pick up a few bits - i fell in love with their bronzer instantly! Since then, I haven't heard much about them, until I saw this...

Pillow Pout is a lip butter that nourishes your lips and acts as a treatment too. Part of the Petal Perfection collection, which also contains a highlighter (Gossamer) and a cheek stain (Flower Cream), is due to go on sale in March.

At the moment, Pillow Pout only comes in this Fuscia shade (which can be a little bright for some of you) but I have been told there are plans to expand the collection, so no doubt there will be more lip colours available - so watch this space.
